In the UK at least complications from obesity, as well as treatment of obesity, ranks in at number 1 in some people's estimation of what the NHS spends its considerable budget on.

Obesity bothers me because it's actually causing a lot of indirect victims. Money is being diverted to something that shouldn't be a problem if people exercised control. But the worst thing is parents not knowing that over feeding your child is actually abuse, and that they are causing long term issues for their children that they may never get over.
T2 diabetes in under 18 year olds has seen a rise year on year in England, which is disgusting as T2 diabetes [i]usually[/] only affects people in the 50's+, and is usually due to a sustained and prolonged affliction of unhealthy living (bad diet, no exercise).
