Well there you go. We have an essential difference in meta values, you and I. You seem to place a greater emphasis on sticking to and acting on what you see as your duty. I'm not sure which secular values in particular you have in mind. All that is clear is that you think values should be prescriptive. There are times I have to stand up for something but I don't plan my life around 'causes' in general, secular or otherwise.
I don't think life is a series of tests to be passed. I also don't think life is a problem to be solved though I like to understand as much as I can. What matters is the question I am exploring in this life, not a set of marching orders. Everything needs to be examined and questioned. There are no authoritative answers, just fellow questioners on our same level, some of whom have claimed too much.
