She probably went to screw around with a rival tribe member, I think she soiled the rep and the pride of the whole tribe by doing so, and the tribal elders gave her a harsh punishment for this.
Amongst us here, that usually isn't the case because we do not hand the girl over to the tribe we took her from. Like, we have the age old custom of bride kidnapping, and there usually is not much that the famiy or the elders of the village or tribe can do about it other than retaliate by kidnapping one of our girls, if they can of course.
Once you kidnap a girl from someone else, you ought to be rather vary of a similar attempt. You have to keep constant tabs on your girls, whether they know anyone from the village or tribe, since they might have someone particular in mind that they would not mind being kidnapped by.

Excuse me?!!! The problem is the patriarchal society that treats women as innately inferior to men and something to be stolen, traded, or corralled. Women are not cows!

Treat women with the same respect as men and there will be no kangaroo courts sentencing women to be raped.

Well, I do treat women with respect, at least those I personally know.
However women in some far away land do not really concern me.
There are no such customs in our culture, so.

They make you sound like an asshole.

Well, losing them will take some time eventually, it is required for us to move beyond them to finally merge into a greater nation.
However, losing them completely is not the solution as they also constitute a part of our culture.
