Supposedly he finds us unworthy of him. I find him unworthy of worship. The feeling is mutual. You can try to gloss things over with love and tolerance and helping the poor and downtrodden later on in the book, but if you're not separating yourself from the kind of things done in the old testament you can't expect me to ignore it.
