Where is that secular place? Does it exist or is it something you believe in?
Quote:Your original post talked about "Utopia", and so did mine. The definition of Utopia is:
"any visionary system of political or social perfection."
So no, I don't think this place exists, but it's something everyone should strive for. Equality and freedom wil lead us forward and together. I don't exactly see what is so funny.
Because you BELIEVE, that's what so funny! Whenever I come across an atheist who BELIEVES I find it absolutely hilarious. All of you guys believe it just that most of you are not honest about it. If you'd be honest you wouldn't place yourselves in some sort of elitist category of the "enlightened ones"
When actually you just BELIEVE differently!
Quote:[quote]I'm well aware Galileo was a Christian and believed in the Bible. I never denied that. My point was about your apparent denial that the Christian church has a long history of denying scientific enquiry, with the notable examples of the trial of Galileo over the correct view that the Earth wasn't the centre of the solar system, let alone the centre of the universe. Other examples include the obvious one concerning Evolution, and the fact that over 50% of Americans do not accept any form of Evolution.
Aha ...there is hope for you then. If you know one of the greatest scientific thinkers of all time believed in the bible, despite the persecution he endured from wicked men. If you understand that he was able to differentiate between the Bible and the wicked men who used the bible for their own selfish purposes, then you should be that much more curious as to why someone intelligent as he never swayed from faith! Bottom line I guess I'm getting to is if Galileo believed then are you and your fellow atheists more intelligent than he?
I assure you most of you ....are not!
So much for the myth of the so called scientifically illiterate Christians
