All of you guys believe it just that most of you are not honest about it. If you'd be honest you wouldn't place yourselves in some sort of elitist category of the "enlightened ones"Yes...I believe in things. What made you think I didn't? An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in gods, not someone who doesn't believe in anything. I don't place myself in an elitist category of "enlightened ones". I say I believe in the Enlightenment, which is perfectly true. What I do say is that the scientific studies have shown a strong negative correlation between religiosity and IQ.
When actually you just BELIEVE differently!
Quote:Aha ...there is hope for you then. If you know one of the greatest scientific thinkers of all time believed in the bible, despite the persecution he endured from wicked men. If you understand that he was able to differentiate between the Bible and the wicked men who used the bible for their own selfish purposes, then you should be that much more curious as to why someone intelligent as he never swayed from faith! Bottom line I guess I'm getting to is if Galileo believed are you and your fellow atheists more intelligent than he?Yes I'm curious; there are exceptions to every study of course. I've known very clever people who are Christians, and I've known very stupid people who are atheists. That doesn't stop the studies that show the correlation from being true, just as 80% of Mensa members are atheists, and something like 75% of the National Academy of Science are atheists.
I assure you most of you ....are not!
Galileo lived over 400 years ago, and our intelligence levels have increased since then. I'd say that quite a few people are more intelligent than Galileo nowadays. He was a genius in his time, but that doesn't make him a genius today.
