No one has ever really examined a soul, but many people insist it exists, and can feel pain. Hence, hell. except there are situations where a person can't feel pain in life due to the nerves of body parts not being able to send signals. You can hit a paralyzed person in the leg, and it won't hurt. Except if souls can feel pain, then wouldn't you be able to feel it through your soul? Darkmatter2525 did a video on this.

Of course this probably means it can't feel pleasure too, so either place would be rather bland.
