Hold on a second. If god, the creator of the universe, wanted to make a donkey talk he's not going to be hindered by the biological limitations of one of his creations.
I mean he's god for goodness. He could make an earthworm fly around your living room and drop cluster bombs out of his arse.
The question isn't whether god could do it, he obviously could have.
The question is, would an all-powerful god do such a thing? And why?
If I told a group of Christians that a donkey spoke to me they would all agree that I was mental. Put it in scripture though and critical thought goes out the window.
That entire section of verse is just yet another bizarre aspect of the bible.
