The focus of feminism does tend to be on women's rights (i.e. elevating the rights of women to be equal to those of men). It rarely seems to focus on men's rights.
Even the word is more focused on women (fem/femin comes from the words female / feminine).
Add to that the fact that the word has been poisoned by various women's rights movements, and it's no wonder why so many are critical of it.
Hence why I advocate abandoning the word and using "egalitarianism" instead. At least from the get go, egalitarianism is about pushing for both women and men's rights.
