I do not wrestle with the concept of a god. I currently dismiss it because the case for the existence of a god has not met its burden of proof.
The majority of atheists are also skeptics. In fact, for most atheists, their atheism is a product of skepticism.
The same properly applied use of critical thinking and skepticism that lead us to the disbelief in the existence of gods, also leads us to the disbelief in demonic possession, ghosts, psychic mediums, Ouija boards, etc.
That being said, atheism itself is the disbelief in gods. It is possible to have atheists that do believe in other supernatural claims.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
