I don't have the mental capacity to research it myself. I have a mental illness that makes even some small things very overwhelming to me, yet alone something as massive as if there's a God or are my parents and everyone I know totally wrong about this.
Why not just revisit this when you're older and independent from your parents, then? The issue will still be here when you're 25, and your brain will still be developing until then anyway. That's the point when your judgement really improves (usually) over when you were younger. Involvement in crime tends to drop dramatically at that age, for instance.
