The correct term for a group is the term they prefer. For example, "Inuits" instead of "Eskimos" and "Native Americans" instead of "Indians."

I wonder if the various tax benefits, court protections, etc that go along with government sanctioned marriage will ever be extended to people who choose to remain single? How come I'm illegible because I don't want to have children or spend my whole life with one person?
