Nowhere near half the world believe in hell.
First, deduct the people who tick christian on the form but are basically just traditional christians. Then deduct all the christians who are christians but don't believe in hell.
That should drop it to quite a small %. In which case more than half the world DON'T think there is eternal torture after death. If you want to play the pure numbers game (which is a poor way to form a view) more people DON'T believe in hell than do.
