No it's not. Your parents were indoctrinated from childhood just like they are doing to you.

Your parents are humans. Humans are frequently wrong. Your parents are giving the idea of god a free ride in their brains without subjecting the idea to logical thought. They do this because of their indoctrination, their own fears, and simply because it's easier just to go along with it like they always have.

They are being mentally lazy on this. And very gullible.
