satan believes and trembles,

That's pretty curious, though. Did Satan not know what the end result would be of turning against god? Nor the "third" of the angels who followed him? If they did not know, then god is quite the deceptive schemer. If they did, then even being in god's presence and knowing his will did not dissuade them from turning on him. What do Satan and the fallen angels know about god that they preferred to defy him, knowing that it could only end one way?

pride took over: "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.'
and it plays out even though he knows what is written as to the ending. pride continues - - - he believes he has an ace up his sleeve and he will rewrite the ending...."pride comes before a fall".
