In TV Tropes there are sections like "loners are freaks", "The complainer is always wrong", "Bury your gays/hide your lesbians", ones about women needing to be in a family or having male support to be successful, and all that. Conservative christians aren't too big on female empowerment, or women who live independently of men and wan to do more than spend 18 years or more raising children. Gay women are useless to them because they're not pumping out babies and being a man's "helper" like the bible tells them to be.

According to a recent post from one Christian poster here on AF, that's even a Christian moral value (insert No True Christian ™ comment here).

Love thy neighbor, and judge not lest you be judged. Yeah, pretty basic "be nice to people" message that seems to be lacking in the OT. First impressions are always important, and the first impression we get is to kill those who are different.
