Imagine if the news was reporting on a black hole that is getting dangerously close to our solar system. Imagine if instead of discussing this with some one like Stephen Hawkin, Neil de-grasse Tyson, or Lawrence Krauss, they got some kind of medical doctor to appear on the show. People would be like: WTF is going on?
That is the reaction the public should have when religious officials are brought in when they clearly are not relevant to the topic at hand.
Every time you see that happening you should contact the network and complain. Put them on speed dial.

I'm talking about Christians expressing fondness for genocide, slavery and all the other things that make your religion reprehensible. There are a lot of Christians who are ignorant of these things, and/or are only casual adherents to the whole thing who focus on the not-so-reprehensible parts.
So-called believers are more atheistic than atheists. All anyone has to do to prove that is to ask a believer to do some of the things that Christianity tells them that they should do. If they are polite they will soon tell you to go to hell. If they are not polite they will tell you to do something else in a very angry tone of voice.
