A ball park figure would be maybe five or six years. If this was a thread about weight loss, I'd say well done for losing 165 lbs. But as a thread on weight gain I'd remind you that it's a slow, long and drawn-out process - it took you 5 or 6 years to gain the weight you lost in just 2 years. You probably have around 80lbs or so to go, so that's another year of weight loss, say 3 years in total.
So what I think is that because weight gain is so slow, when compared to weight loss, many people simply do not recognize it. And that makes it very easy to ignore. In fact friends of mine have fattened up to the point of obesity - I ask them their weight they say "oh I think it's 120kg", then they step on the scales and "what? I've gained weight!" completely unaware they'd put on another 5 or 10 kilos.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
