Jesus was called to be a victim soul. Since we are called to the communion of Saints (one body in Christ) we are called to share in the victimhood, suffering, mortification, crucifixion, death, and Ressurection of Christ. As the suffering of Christ atoned for the sins of the World so is our suffering to be offered to God in union with the Crucifixion of Christ as a sin offering to atone for our sins and those of the whole world.
GOd wants us to suffer in this life. We have an eternity of no suffering and this life is one second in comparison. All this bullshit will be over in no time. We'll share the same lot as those hundreds of generations of unfortunate disenfranchised Motherfuckers that came before us.
