Accept your baseline of happiness / unhappiness.
Don't hope to feel better or even try to feel better. If you chase happiness then you will find it at times but when it's not there you will feel really bad.
When you start to feel bad just reject it. It's not that hard.
When you get used to your baseline of happiness then every small joy that comes your way will feel good.
Eventually life the way you are will feel normal and you will be happy in your own way.
