Yeah I think one of the major advantages could be the decrease of fear in one's life and a lighter heart.
However, sometimes people become fearless as a result of their faith too, so it's hard to say. I know I was more scared when I was without faith.
But I'm not one of these scrupulous guilt ridden people that lives in panic because everyone around them is going to hell for not believing what I do.
Yes, Religion can be extremely destructive. I don't deny that. But it doesn't have to be.
