Wow. I don't know any women in the Middle East but I do have an aunt that is Muslim. Women who want to do things or act in ways and are not allowed to are oppressed. Women who choose to live their lives that way, are not oppressed. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it, but just because I don't understand it and/or it's different from me, doesn't make it wrong. If you try to force a woman to live as a Muslim, that is wrong. If she chooses to live that way, that is fine by me and it is not oppression.
