You could have mounting evidence on your side, too. Maybe it will some day be discovered that some of those 500 witnesses wrote down their experience and had to hide their account from the Romans. Maybe it will be discovered that someone who wasn't a Gospel author noticed the sky darkening and an earthquake on a day that can be tied to the crucifixion. These are things we would expect if the events described actually occurred, just as we keep finding things we would expect if the Big Bang actually occurred.
