The problem with YOUR statement is that there is NO study art all that even suggests that theists - xtian or otherwise - are somehow any more moral or ethical than people who do not believe in religious fairy tales.
The problem with XTANS like you is that you are trying to claim that xtians who sin magically become atheists - not christians. ANd that is FALSE
An atheist is not a xtian who sins - an atheist is a person who does not accept the claim that gods exist. AND when YOU sin - you do not become an atheist - you are just a sinning xtian
Hitler was a christian - without question - he did what he did because he believed his god was on his side and agreed with him. And if a god - who supposedly is almighty and could have prevented the holocaust - failed to do so - the god is NO more moral or ethical that the actions IT supposedly allows.
WE do not believe because we do not IGNORE the obvious - that claims of prayer working are not true among other things. THERE has NEVER been a scientific study of a statistically significant group of people where prayer had been proven to have had any effect more than chance - with ANY theist group regardless of what god they believe in.
Why is it that - for instance - xtians claim that near death experiences prove their god - when such experiences happen with ALL theist groups - and in every case - the theist sees what he was trained to expect. Why don't atheists see St. Peter? Why do Muslims not see him either?

Somehow - you believe that in order for people to be honest and ethical and moral - they must either have a "PRIZE" to get if they are - or there must be an eternal punishment if they are not.
Yet - if a prize is offered - then xtians are not actually being moral - they are being BRIBED and coerced. And they give money to their religion to bribe their god as well! (The bible says give to Caesar what is Caesars and give to god what is god's - so you should be PRAYING for your church - not giving money - and also in the bible -the way to be "saved" is to give ALL your money "TO THE POOR" - not to the religion. HAVE YOU DONE THIS and WHY NOT?
One who does not believe in religion - I know that humans are capable of being moral and ethical for the BEST reason of all - it is the correct thing to do.
