Obviously, there are secular discoveries that support the background situation of the bible story, but none that I know of that support the miraculous events recorded within. I honestly think that if you base your willingness to believe only on collaborating secular findings and aren't willing to accept the witness of the bible writers then I agree you won't believe. We do rely on the honesty and accuracy of the bible's writers, but more by our experiences and the shared experiences of others with God. The bible leads to us God, but anybody who wishes to follow him must take that step of faith. Anything supernatural is simply absurd to any person who is willing to base their beliefs only on naturally acquired knowledge and experiences.
