He obviously doesn't understand that when I mock god I am really mocking his beliefs. He should take it all personally. There is no god to mock.
This is what I cant stand about humans, but also what I understand about myself now looking back at when I was a kid. Now while my mother, whom I have always loved and of course still do, was too much of an authoritarian with me sometimes, caused me to take everything she said personally, even the times where she was simply saying "DAMN IT YOU ARE ACTING STUPID". She loves me, but there really were times when I was acting stupid or saying stupid shit and she was simply trying to correct me.
He should take it personally in the sense that someone sold him a bill of goods. But he should not take it personally when all we are doing is saying "Sorry dude, the Yankees did not win the Superbowl".
I think if I went up to my mom or called her right now and said "You know what Mom, I just discovered that I am Napoleon" and she thought I really meant it, I think she would have every right to be concerned.
Atheists don't mock religion because we hate humans. We mock it because we know humans can do better viewing the world with telescopes not Kaleidoscope thinking. It is is never for the atheist a human rights issue or personal, it is strictly for us what comes out of your mouth and the evidence you have to back out what comes out of your mouth.
