I like to think about how marvelous the human body is. Sure you can make a case for it's "poor design", but you can also make a case for its miraculous complexity. So far we haven't found another race or creature that is close to as smart and self-aware as we are. And we can see pretty far nowadays. Your immune system is very, very powerful and efficient. Until it turns on itself.

The argument that it is poorly designed starts to define good design by proxy... May be we need to have our throat and windpipe together. May be choking is next to godliness...
