There are hundreds of thousands of legally owned machine guns in the hands of individual US citizens. Despite this there has not been a homicide conviction in US courts of a US civilian for killing someone with one of those legally owned machine guns since 1934 when the National Firearms Act was passed.

I don't think that "prohibiting people from using firearms while under the influence" is a nice way to back up gun rights in bars.
I'm not sure if you missed or ignored the point of this post, but to the best of my knowledge similar laws in other states have not resulted in an increase of shootings in places that serve alcohol. If you have any statistics that say they have then please trot them out for us to see.
