Everybody here speaks english... even if very badly.
I once heard something about the native English speakers learning a new language... I think it was Rory Sutherland:

I will have to pretend I don't speak English to get people to speak Portuguese to me! Lol

That would make communication difficult.
You could start with spanish... we can understand it, for the most part, as long as you speak slowly...
When the Spaniards go into full arabic mode, then forget-about-it! It's impossible to keep up.
