Honestly, this is a rather funny interpretation. Would you call knowingly going against God's will "evil"? Your idea is God could have told us what was good and evil, yet he didn't, and he allowed them to make an "evil" choice by disobeying him. That's just weird. Original sin exists because God decided to keep Adam and Eve's understanding of good and evil to be like a child's, and then he went on to punish every single human going forward because of it.
Your apologetics just made YHWH look worse, not better.
It's just stuff modern Christian apologists have to come up with in order to explain away the difficulties arising from a literal interpretation of the Scriptures.
