Or seems he already knew what was going to happen,, what Abraham was thinking and what he was going to think he could have skipped the whole traumatizing "my dad was going to stab the shit of me" situation. The whole proving devotion thing makes little sense when you can tell the future and read minds.
And yet they keep repeating it as though their all-powerful deity couldn't know these things anyway.
It's like the "sacrifice" of Jesus thing: all powerful deity needs to sacrifice itself to itself to change its own rules.
