As long as you obey your spouse and don't try to leave him he won't beat you. But even when you do everything he wants he still beats you. But have no fear after he beats you he brings you flowers and tells you he did it for your own good.
The flowers won't arrive, of course, until after you die, but rest assured he will beat you to death out of love so you can receive the flowers sooner.
But don't think you deserve the flowers, because you are a sinner, and it is only by his grace that you are allowed the flowers.
