While I am not in favor of rape - we are probably the only animals on the planet where procreation is based on clear consent

You couldn't be further from the truth. I can think of hundreds of animals, off the top of my head, which have mating or courtship rituals which establish consent.

Not only that, but in the mammalian world, most of the rituals revolve around the males fighting or showing off to be 'allowed' to mate with the female. The entire scenario puts the female at the top of the whole game.
