"Dill' is archaic Australian slang for 'idiot' as is 'drongo' (a rather stupid bird).

What Americans call a 'pickle' we call a 'gherkin' or 'a dill pickle'. A 'gherkin' is usually a sweet pickled dill cucumber.

'Pickle' as a single word usually means a relish or chutney.

Trivia: The only purely Aussie mortal insult I can think of is 'bludger'. Originally a pimp,today it means a parasite.
