If you became an atheist recently (and by recently it can range from 1 month to 2 years) you'll be having a species of 'syndrome' that happens frequently because letting go something you have always believed is though and hard to do. When I quit Christianity, I still was a kind of deist with some beliefs in a creator, it was merely wishful thinking. With time you'll start to think about that question less times until you quit giving a shit about it.
What if Christians are right? They could be. As I usually say, atheism and lack of evidence don't prove any religion wrong. However they make theism/religion highly unlikely, the probability of christians (and by the way, I don't know why you only mention christians, you forgot the other big four religion worldwide) being right is a lot lower than the one of atheists being right (and we are).
