I'm used to living in my car. If I had to live in it for the rest of my life, I guess I could manage. What you are suggesting, at minimum, adds years to finishing school and forfeiting thousands of dollars in earned credits. I already looked into what transfers to Edison, and WPU, and KU, and CNJ, and NJCU. Mostly just my prereq credits. Some of my math credits but not my physics and chemistry credits. It is a reset of half of the classes I've taken on top of waiting a year for residency, on top of years to save up to go back. Your college credits are only good for a few years. I'd have to start all over and I would *STILL* have the debt. You are oversimplifying the problem and trying to make it much worse.I'm not oversimplifying anything. I'm trying to point out that you do have other options, even if they're not the ones you consider best. Nor am I trying to make your situations worse. You are already making it worse than it has to be. You have options, especially with family only 750 miles away.

I don't know why it bothers you so much that I just want to get my life back on track and get back in school without losing so much hard work that took me over 30 years. If you don't want to donate, that is fine, but you do not have to put me down as a fellow human being. I'm trying to accomplish a goal to finish my education quickly, requalify for financial aid, and complete school with less debt. There are teenagers raising just as much money to get their tuitions paid for. Why does it bother you so much that I'm 34 and just trying to finish what I've started?
More can't/won't excuses with a dose of self pity.
First off, I don't have a problem with you wanting to finish what you started. What I have a problem with is your unreasonable desire to have other people make you debt free so you can get what you want when there are other options. I understand that may not be optimum solutions. they are, however, solutions. And, a better ones than living in your car begging for hand-outs. I've never had to live in my car (because I've never been too prideful to move in with family) but I have had to give up as wasted both time and money that is already gone and the collectors wanted back. It's not the end of the fraking world! But, you can make it the beginning of a new life.

I'm sorry that you cannot empathize with that. But, as a fellow human being who cares about you, please do not attack me.You're using that site to get debt free the easy way. I can empathize with your plight. I can't empathize with your unwillingness to take a setback and work from there to make your own life better. And no, I'm not attacking you. I'm attacking your methods and excuses. Until you realize "this is where I'm at" and start asking yourself "how do I move forward," you never will.
BTW - Your battery may be bad, but from the description it sounds more like your alternator. You can probably get one cheap from the local wrecking yard and I'm sure one of those nice church boys would help you install it. Any competent grease monkey can test it for you for a nominal fee.
