I disagree that the use of the word nigger is inherently racist or offensive regardless of context. I also think saying "the N word" when simply discussing the use of the word is awkward and sounds immature.
I haven't said it many times in my life, but when I have said it it was either an intelligent conversation among adults discussing racism, or quoting someone else.
Context is very important to me. Sometimes using words like that can really drive a point home. I do think that it's a bad idea to use it as a newspaper headline, especially referring to the president.
I hope you don't actually ever refer to people as nigger though. That's just awful.
