Hell should be, IMO, entirely 'real' to atheists when debating Christian cafeteriaists (and that would be just about everyone last one of them), to the extent that the backsliding Christers are going to be condemned to go there for disappointing Jesus, and it needs to be emphasized during the debate.
Seems like any audience would be impressed to see the atheist notice in a debate with Christers that they are all Hell bound, BY THEIR OWN INERRANT SCRIPTURES. If they really were filled with the True Spirit of Christ, they would be unable to eat shrimp, mixed fabric clothing would burst into flames when it touched their skin, and they would not fear to handle snakes and drink strychnine.
Interesting if atheists started carrying around vials of Holy water, claimed they were actually cyanide, and see if they can find any Christers willing to drink it.
