If someone is going to call me a waste of a life for not agreeing with him in a thread, then maybe the world would be better off without those Christians telling Atheists they are a waste of a life for not seeing something their way.All lives have intrinsic value. I fell pity for some people who can't respect others simply because they happen to think differently for them. We are all one race, one species, all our lives are equally valuable, it doesn't matter our differences, we should think more about what we have in common.
If those people lack intellect or values to understand all lives are valuable independently of belief or lack of it, then don't hate them, feel sorry for them, those poor things, I wish I could make them see how their stupidity harms the world, and worse yet that kind of stupidity is contagious between family and friends.
But I have to remind them that my life has value because they think it doesn't for being an atheist, of course I pity them for they do not know better but I feel like it's my place to defend my position in life at all times. I wasn't saying my life has value and theirs doesn't, just a reminder to them that they're talking to an actual person and not some recorded voice they can say awful things to. I understand that people think I should roll with the punches but I'd rather correct the problem than just say, hey you have your opinion I have mine. If I think their opinion is harmful horseshit I wanna let them know that, especially if they're telling me I'm a worthless sack of shit.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
