We live for our friends, family ? then what they will also eventually die. If even if we become successful scientist or businessman then what? Why are we surviving, bound to natural selection and all those stuff.
Cockroaches and crocodiles are far more primitive than humans. Even now they are where they were 100 millions years ago. They are surviving as well.
We humans have just adapted to survive effectively. But why? Nothing will change if human population increase.
The only reason I can come up with is human extinction or end of world due to overpopulation and over utilization of resource.
The meaning of life is to find the meaning of YOUR life.

What I mean by that is, there is no one pre-existing set rulebook for life that governs every situation and can take care of every person's need. As atheists, we know that religion, the ultimate attempt to settle that question and mold peoples' opinions into preconceived answers, is no good. So the question that often gets asked of us is- where do you atheists go from there? If we aren't doing this to an imaginary dad in the sky:

surely our existence must be meaningless? Well of course not. So the answer in my opinion, is that we create our own rulebook for the most part. Sure we feel bound by society's laws (when they're logical) in order to (hopefully) live in reasonable harmony with other people, as well as social customs, mores, our own psychology...but I may derive happiness from volunteering while you may prefer skydiving, creating entertaining YouTube videos, whatever.

Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
