I may be misrepresenting it, thanks for the correction.
This is why people who may have little to no historical knowledge of other religions, and too much of their own doctrine are annoying.
There's a clear linear progression from historical Judaism to Christianity, and Christianity clearly absorbs whatever they see as part of their doctrine.
To have someone say "well clearly, this is just later divine revelation, to one small region a few thousand years ago. Ignore what we know historically happened; the bible is the only history you need!"
