Owners of business, dealing with the public are very sensitive about how their efforts are perceived.
Maybe in central Africa this stuff would be more accepted- but not likely here.
I am shocked to see an otherwise pretty ( or plain) girl screw up her face.
I don't get it.
I suspect there is some subliminal subculture influencing this.
Is this the case?
Do they hate themselves?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are plenty of jobs--mostly artistic--that would allow for free expression. I don't think body piercings or tattoos have anything to do with self-loathing but a kind of subculture expression.
Honestly I think cardigans are hideous and polos in springtime colors are sinful--it's not a form of self mutilation but a mutilation of fashion sense. Nonetheless, the conservative population in my area continues to sport them with pride.
And who cares if a girl wants to "screw up her face"? I'd be more concerned about screwing up your mind with religious delusions.
