CSICOP: Would the world be better off without religion?
I have no need of asking this question for I do not envision a world without religion.
I envision a world where the role of religion is such that the question "is the world better off without religion" would become about as weighty as "is the world better off without daytime soap opera", and would likely generate similar sensible answers.

What have we got to lose except the delusions of millions of fuckheads.
Delusion is integral to fuckheadhood. You may deprive them of one, and they would instantly substitute another.
