I agree that the avoidance of innocent casualties plays into any moral judgement to be made. I'm not convinced the Israelis are doing so much as they claim, and I know that Hamas is acting in a manner designed to use civilians as shields. I find both sides morally repugnant.
As with most wars, there are no good or bad guys, in my opinion.
