Well I don't claim to have ben, and it would of course just be a mental excercise at this point. I don't think it's naive though. It seems to logically follow. Without an element of intensity and time I don't think resentment can be formed, thus I don't think hate s necessarily formed. It would seem to me on an instinctual level of instant reaction, there isn't enough time to rationalize, reflect, or compose an opinion on the subject. That is at the very least required before a hatred can be formed.
I'd like a woman's perspective on this mental excercise. You're walking down the street and without any warning within 20 seconds someone grabs you rips off your closthes, pinsyou to the ground and begins to rape you. What is your exact thought that very second... I'm going to put in my suppositions here survival, get off me, stop it, shoot him in the head.. I think it'd be reactionary at that point, purely instinctual. Now 2 minutes down the road when you've given up trying to get away and you're sobbing , what do you feel then? Have you have the time to formulate the strong resentment of what he's taken/done to you? probably, and you probably hate him at this point. Then you go to the police station and all the tests and such and that resentment builds quickly into rage and vengeful hatred. That's what seems to flow for me, opinions?

"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
