I was born here but I was raised in riverside county for twelve years until my HS graduation. We spent a lot of time out in SD because of family though. After graduation I moved to SD for college and work.

And that's a good question, my grandfather is actually retired Navy. From what I understand, a long time ago, basically everyone was connected to the military, but SD has become much diverse since the 40's-70's.
