We're talking about accounts of Jesus as God right? What was written is deemed to be God inspired. Those accounts God inspired. Luke isn't denouncing that at all.

The bible has been translated many times since the KJV. The NIV is considered to be the most accurate now, but still more accurate translation can be had from varying sources.
