I suppose you want a god that commands slaughter of innocents to rule us then?

Oh, no what will I do?
I guess I will just have to answer the question and points you bring up biblically.
Quote:Have we done a perfect job of governing ourselves? No, but we get better at it all the time, primarily because as the baseless fear of your non-existent god recedes, people look to themselves. So ISIS, Putin's Russia, Kim's North Korea, these are all examples of some of the 'new/better' governments that are absent of 'my God' and his principles.
Quote:Really? Starving babies in Africa (not to mention Europe, Asia, and the Americas) doesn't give you the teensiest pause that maybe your god could lend a hand?Nuupe.
Why? Because we have been tasked with this job, and been given the resources to complete it. It's not God's responsibility unless we did not have the resources or the ability to distribute them. As it is we have all three and do not do it.
Quote:Oh, wait I was just reminded that you don't believe in God so the starving babies issue has been placed directly into our laps, making it our responsibility in your world view, and any failure and or lack of support these people have are a direct result of societal indifference, and has nothing to do with God in any way.. After all how can God be responsible if he does not exist?
Oh, wait, I remember - god permits babies to die of malnutrition and other horrible afflictions to teach us mercy and compassion.
Just like in my world view, where God says it is our responsibility to care for the starving and needy.
And if their are starving and needy it is due to our societal indifference, and nothing to do with God.. After all how is it God's fault if He gave his servants all the supplies and capability to alleviate this suffering and even command us to do this, and they don't?
Quote:ah, no. Our governments pay farmers not to grow crops because the surplus would drive the price of said crop down.
As for managing resources, this too is getting better all the time.
This is not resource management this is greed at the expense of lives.
Quote: Fewer people (as a percentage of population) go hungry or cold or die of sanitation-related illnesses than ever before. Why? Because of HUMAN ingenuity and compassion, not the god of Abraham, we seems to take a disturbing delight in misery and horror.http://www.cbsnews.com/ebola/

Yeah, good job.
Don't get me started on AIDS, Piracy, and the warlord states that plague that part of the world.
In truth we no matter what we believe have failed the people of Africa.[/quote]
