Just off the top of my head three of my gay friends had this "accent" as its being called. One had it very strong and he definitely accentuated it deliberately... he was a complete queen though. Another it was kindof there, noticeable but not strong, and the last (who was actually bisexual) switched it on and off depending on who he was talking to.
I wouldn't call it an accent though, i would call it an affectation.
Actually, funny thing is, all three guys were decent looking, not ugly (so you can throw out the ugly stereotype as well). The one i referred to as a queen was about 6ft tall, very well muscled and no fat, nice hair down to his shoulders, handsome face not too masculine or feminine, basically many a woman's dream... i think he disappointed quite a lot of girls.
