No you're not a skeptical person.
A skeptical person, when asked why they would not believe in alien abduction, would say something like:
"There is no demonstrable, verifiable evidence that aliens have visited earth".
Or,
"The nearest star is dozens of light years away. There is no known way to travel those distances".
Or some other reason based on lack of evidence.
Being skeptical is not appealing to an ancient book filled with magic, witches, dragons, gods sacrificing themselves to themselves, people living to 900 years old, a boat holding 2 or 7 of all the species on earth, men living in fish for 3 days, healing leprosy with bird blood, etc, etc.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
